Besfor has obtained a international OHSAS 18001:1999 certification for its management system prevention of occupational hazards after overcoming the audit conducted by the Associacao Portuguesa de Certificaçao, thus becoming the first factory Finsa Group which has the implementation of this standard. Besides this certification is compatible with the ISO 9001:2000 and ISO 14001:2004 for quality management and the environment respectively, and that Bresfor already possesses. .
The Certification OHSAS (Occupational Health and Safety Assessment Series) is a regulation jointly developed with the participation of several specialized institutions, and certified by international standards institutions, which aims to improve the processes of corporate governance and workplace health and safety above the minimum required by law, namely this standard defines the principles and requirements of auditable Management Systems for the Prevention of Occupational Hazards.
The implementation of OHSAS responds to the desire to establish, maintain and continually improve the system of management prevention of occupational hazards in a company. Thus, Bresfor credited System Occupational Prevention through an outside firm, obtaining a certificate in accordance with the strict guidelines of this standard, which is renewed annually by conducting an external audit.
The OHSAS certifies and monitors various aspects of management in the field of prevention, as the policy of prevention, risk assessment, setting goals for continuous improvement actions of control of the most significant risks, or implementing control systems activities and assessment system.
