Joining techniques

junta After producing the veneer, the strips are sanitised using a specialised guillotine and then the strips are jointed using glue or thread to produce a useable sheet know as a “LAYON”. The visual effects required in the final panel can be achieved by the method of jointing.

Reverse slip match

junta2 Generally used with crown cut veneers. Every second veneer strip is turned end to allow for better distribution of the crowns throughout the layon

Mismatched

Mismatched/ Random Match/ Planked

junta4 Individual strips are random matched for effect especially common with veneers like Pippy Oak and Knotty Pine.
